Churros - deep-fried dough sticks from Spain

Traditionally deep-fried dough sticks originating from Spain, but they're now really popular in Latin America, particularly Mexico, Colombia and Guatemala.


They are traditionally eaten for breakfast, dipped with chocolate, but you might also spot them on dessert menus in restaurants


Ingredients for the baked churros mix:

  1. 150ml water

  2. 75g butter

  3. 20g light brown sugar

  4. 1/4 tsp salt

  5. 95g plain flour

  6. 2 medium eggs

Ingredients for the baked churros topping:

  1. 100g caster sugar

  2. 1 tsp cinnamon
